The lodge is set on the pristine shores of the Maputuland Coast, in KwaZulu-Natal and is the ideal place to discover one of Africa's last unspoilt wilderness beaches. It is a magical place of coastal forests, grasslands, bush, shimmering lakes and exquisite sandy beaches. Its crystal clear, warm waters offer South Africa's best snorkelling, excellent off-shore diving and incredible birding opportunities. You'll find a restaurant and bar and well as a spa and swimming pool. Guided birding, walks & Turtle Tracking are offered in season.

Additional activities include boating, canoeing, catch-and-release fishing, kayaking, snorkelling and whale watching (seasonal). There are just 24 rooms, offering either ocean or forest views and all have air conditioning, fan, fridge, minibar, outdoor shower, safe, tea and coffee making facilities.

These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.
